Forestland Portfolio Compliance Leader

To be successful in this role, you have the following:

a university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Forestry, Biology, Ecology, Forest ecology, Environmental Sciences), minimum 5 years of experience in forest management, nature conservation, social and environmental impact assessment, carbon footprint accounting, ESG reporting or R&D (Research and Development) in the above-mentioned fields.

Ideally, your profile is being complemented by following:

experience as a leader in large international structures, strong ability to prioritize, provide clear directions and multitask as well as the ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English. You get inspired by both working together as well as independently and you are motivated by leading through co-creation with colleagues and other Ingka units.

You are a good communicator, you take initiative and have a high drive and motivation with a positive attitude, you are curious and open for a continuously changing environment with many different stakeholders and demands. You are a strategic, tactical and operational business partner, with strong analytical skills who can translate business needs into concrete consequences and solutions.

About the job

The Forestland Portfolio Compliance Leader leads the compliance agenda of the forestland portfolio to ensure delivery on enforcement of applicable standards (both external and internal) and continuous improvement of portfolio’s carbon footprint, through collaborating cross-functionally with identified stakeholders.

More specifically, this means you will:

  • Develop and lead the carbon footprint reduction plan and compliance plan for the forestland portfolio, in line with Ingka’s Sustainability strategy.
  • Identify, create and implement a monitoring framework for ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) reporting with focus on carbon footprint and compliance with applicable standards (legislation, FSC, steering documents, etc.)  of the forestland portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners and services to collect, interpret and report relevant data and parameters.
  • Set targets and develop action plans to achieve the agreed performance on carbon footprint, in compliance with applicable standards, and other ESG parameters required by applicable legislation and/or Ingka Group.
  • Act as ambassador internally and externally for the sustainability agenda for the forestland portfolio to ensure cross functional alignment and cooperation.
  • Collect, compile and interpret the results of the compliance reviews, impact assessment on carbon footprint or other relevant parameters.
  • Analise and provide the scientific background for setting compliance and sustainability objectives, allocation of resources and set relevant KPIs.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assess opportunities for partnerships and innovations on our carbon footprint, compliance, risk management and sustainability agenda.
