All our forests in Romania are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council ® (FSC -C131270). We believe FSC is currently the most credible global forest management certification available, as it covers far more than just harvesting practices. FSC certification also includes requirements for biodiversity protection, such as identifying and setting aside critical high conservation value forests, it supports community rights and takes action to develop a fair and safe environment for those working in the forest.
What does it mean to be forest management certified?
Forest management certification is a voluntary and rigorous evaluation process overseen by independent experts. Thorough audits, including field inspections are conducted to guarantee adherence to responsible forest management principles. The certification is granted for a renewable five-year period, with ongoing annual monitoring to ensure sustained compliance.
Beyond our commitment to forest certification, we actively welcome assessments of our practices, maintaining a commitment to transparency and accountability in our pursuit of responsible and sustainable forest management.
The forest management certification process also entails ongoing communication with key stakeholders, including local communities, authorities, and businesses. This ensures that stakeholders have the opportunity to provide recommendations and opinions on how the company conducts its forest management at any point in time.
